Heading to ND

Eli and I are heading to ND on Saturday. Dennis will follow after finals. We're going to be around Fargo/Napoleon until Dec. 28. We are so excited to see you. Give us a call if you're in the area.

Eli out and about.

OK. He's really not that good at holding his bottle. He can hold it for about 15 seconds.

Alex, Eli's friend, and Eli all decked out for the holidays.

Already 3 months old...

Eli's first snow.

Sucking his thumb.

Modeling his new clothes.

Eli turned 3 months on the 17th. He celebrated by rolling over (although Dennis says there is a difference between falling over and rolling over, but whatever). We got his 3 month pictures taken at Sears. He's also growing lots as he's moved out of his 0-3 monthers and into his 3-6 monthers. I've had fun putting him into some of his new clothes that many of you sent him. Here's a few.

Starting To Chew

Notice how nice he's holding his teething bee/butterfly. He loves to chew on it, but is not always so good at holding on to it.
MMMM. Eli loves to chew on other peoples fingers. He's also started to suck his thumb. I sure hope he doesn't suck his thumb until he's four like I did. But, if he does, we can always get him to stop by bribing him with getting his ears pierced. (Hey, it worked for me.)

Eli met Aunt Pat too, but for some reason we don't have any pictures of just her and Eli.

My First Pumpkin

As you can see, Eli's getting chubbier. He looks so much like his Uncle Darren, who's coming to visit on Friday along with both grandmas and grandpas and Aunt Pat. Eli is so excited.

Laughing

Eli had his two month appointment yesterday. He's getting fatter. He now weighs 10 pounds 10 ounces. The doctor was very impressed with his weight gain this past month as he's gained over 3 pounds! He didn't enjoy getting his shots very much. As you can see, he's feeling much better today. He had the giggles for awhile today which I loved. He's a pretty smiley kid when he gets enough sleep and he's been sleeping much better so he's been smiling a lot more. The really weird thing about these pictures is that he usually hates his carseat.

To quote my good friend, Mia, " He's so cute; I just can't take it." Me neither.

For Emily and Ashley

Eli's cousins, Emily and Ashley, wrote Eli a letter and requested more pictures. So, here it is. Eli's biggest post ever!

Eli sucking on his hand.

The big grunt! (pooping. Dennis and I find it quite hilarious because he tries so hard.)

I'm not looking at you.

Action photo- Spitting up.

Isn't he too cute for words?

His newest development-- looking at objects! He loves his mobile.

In his baseball hat.

At the Nepali festival.

In his carseat.

A Day at Lynd Farm

We spent the first non-raining cool fall day at Lynd Farm picking pumpkins and tasting apples. Eli stayed warm in the sling and slept the whole time!

He's Smiling!

Starting on Sunday, Eli has been smiling at me. Not just little smiles, but big, ear-to-ear grins that just melt your heart. It's so sweet.

GETTING BIG

Eli is getting bigger every day. He now weighs 8 pounds 13 ounces. He's getting that middle-aged man look-- receding hairline and a big belly. He's grown out of his newborn diapers and is now out of his newborn clothes and into his 0-3 month ones. Take a look at his new skills.

Eli has discovered his hands and is learning how to suck on them to comfort himself which is great because he won't take a pacifier.

He enjoys the swing for short periods of time. He's still a little too small for it.

Look at him hold his head up!

I love that perfectly round cheek!

Swimming!

We took Eli swimming at the OSU Rec Center. He enjoyed the hot tub (it wasn't too hot) before he got kicked out for not being 14. Then we took him in the leisure pool, which was warm for a pool but not warm enough for Eli. He made it a few minutes. But, I sure had a good time. I'm going to keep trying though, just because I liked it.

Couch Potato

Hanging Out!

Sleeping beauty.

Where did he get that red hair (or brown hair with red highlights?)

His pants are so big we have to roll them at the waist. He'll be fitting into them soon...

As I was looking at this weeks photos, I realized that they were all of Eli hanging out on the couch. I swear, we do more than sit on the couch. We sit lots of places: in the glider-rocker, in the car seat, on dad's lap, on mom's lap, but the couch really is a favorite place.

Eli is 4 weeks old already. It's hard to believe that we've had him for 4 weeks, but at the same time he's changed our life so much that I could say "We've ONLY had him 4 weeks?". He's so much fun, but he's a lot of work.

I joined a moms' group this week. It's been a lot of fun getting to know other women who stay home with their children. They do lots of fun things: parties, picnics, mom's night out, and playgroups. Of course, they all love Eli.
